The Role
As a Mortgage Advisor, you will be the dedicated point of contact for customers throughout their entire mortgage journey. From initial consultation to drawdown, you will provide clear guidance, expert advice and ongoing support, ensuring a smooth and positive experience at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with customers to understand their financial situation, goals and preferences
Assess customer eligibility by reviewing financial information and mortgage requirements
Provide tailored mortgage advice aligned to each customer's needs
Gather all relevant documentation and prepare detailed credit assessments
Submit credit applications directly to underwriters and manage the process through to approval
Maintain regular communication with customers and underwriters, addressing queries and clarifications
Support customers with related protection needs by introducing house insurance and mortgage protection solutions
Assist customers once a property has been identified, including securing a Letter of Offer
Manage the mortgage process through to successful drawdown following contract completion
Build strong, long term relationships with customers by delivering a consistently high level of service
Develop and grow a local referral network within the Malahide area
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and internal policies, including the Consumer Protection Code and Central Bank guidelines
From time to time, assist with additional customer services such as account opening or cash related activities
Skills and Experience
QFA qualification is desirable, with APA in Loans and Savings and Investments as the minimum requirement
A minimum of two years' experience working as a Mortgage Advisor is essential
Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess financial documentation accurately
A customer first mindset with a genuine interest in helping people achieve their homeownership goals
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently
A collaborative team player who takes pride in being a trusted mortgage expert
Comfortable using mortgage systems, calculators and supporting technology
