Assistant Production Manager - County Leitrim.
Reporting to the Site manager and working in conjunction with the Production Manager this position's primary responsibilities include the daily management and control of plant production including planning quality, yields, wastage, unit costs, while ensuring compliance with all quality, labour, safety, environmental and corporate policies and regulations. The position will also contribute to the development and implementation of site plan .
Main Responsibilities:
1. Plan, direct, and coordinate plant production in the day to day activities to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of productivity targets in compliance with applicable customer, legislative and insurance requirements.
2. Complete production planning and liaise with Group sales and planning develop a robust production plan.
3. Manage production service, delivery and quality, in conjunction with the site team.
4. As site champion manages the site health and safety activity and reporting, liaising with group health and safety.
5. Support New Product Development initiatives.
6. Ensure production level quality is maintained
7. Monitor and measure production KPI’s on a daily basis to achieve lowest cost and margin delivery.
8. Support productivity development and work process development to meet site requirements.
9. Lead, manage and provide support to all site production lines in achieving the highest possible level of safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
10. Complete daily safety checks
11. Ensure all employee are inducted and trained to the required standard, maintain training plans and records for all employees
12. Liaise with maintenance to ensure full preventative maintenance and repairs program is implemented for all processing machines/equipment to minimize overall productivity downtime.
13. Achieve plant production yields and quality goals.
14. Determine staffing requirements in line requirements. Support recruitment activity.
15. Ensure that all customer requirements are processed correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance with customer specifications and regulatory quality requirements
16. Performance Management & Annual Appraisals of direct reports including the monitoring, reviewing and addressing of reports, under performance and maintenance of appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.
17. Enforce the Company's safety, quality and environmental policies within the plant and promote & maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
18. Develop a safety first culture holding reports accountable for proper execution of their safety responsibilities.
19. Provide daily , weekly and monthly reporting requirements for your area including
a. Labour efficiency and standards
b. Recruitment/retention
c. Absenteeism management
d. uptime and downtime
20. Manage through KPI’s , implement effective daily PIT meetings and follow up
21. Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by utilizing Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques.
22. Develop & implement operational improvements
a. Ensure non value added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using Lean tools and techniques.
b. Manage change to meet current business requirements.
c. Implement manufacturing improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, increase throughput and minimise costs.
23. Work as part for the site operations team to share best practice and support group initiatives.
