Required for a leading M&E engineering services company with a proven track record in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection.
The Bid Co-ordination Engineer supports the preparation, development, and submission of high-quality bids across mechanical, electrical, and multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
The role ensures that tender submissions are accurate, compliant, professionally presented, and delivered within strict deadlines. Working closely with engineering, estimating, planning, procurement, and project delivery teams, the Bid Co-ordination Engineer contributes to winning work across data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the full bid process from initial tender receipt to final submission.
- Develop bid programmes, action plans, and deliverables schedules.
- Organise bid kick-off meetings, design reviews, and progress updates.
- Track tender queries, clarifications, and addenda, ensuring accurate integration into submissions.
- Prepare and format high-quality bid documents across technical, commercial, and compliance sections.
- Coordinate inputs from estimating, engineering, planning, safety, quality, and procurement teams.
- Maintain document control, version management, and tender portal submissions.
- Compile supporting materials such as CVs, organograms, method statements, and case studies.
- Assist in drafting technical narratives, methodologies, and scopes of work.
- Review drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to identify bid requirements.
- Ensure bids meet client specifications, industry standards, and internal governance.
- Liaise with internal teams, JV partners, consultants, and subcontractors, supporting presentations and clarifications.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Construction Management, or related engineering discipline.
- 2–5+ years’ experience in an engineering, construction, estimating, design, or project coordination role.
- Strong organisational and project-coordination skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and document-formatting ability.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and document management systems.
- Experience in mechanical/electrical contracting or specialist sectors such as data centres or pharma.
- Familiarity with bid management methodologies (e.g., APMP).
- Experience using tender portals and collaboration platforms (e.g., Procore, Aconex, Asite).
- Graphic/layout skills (InDesign, Visio) considered an advantage.
