Job Title: Commercial Manager
Location: Co. Meath, Ireland

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a dynamic and growing engineering organisation. This role will be based in Co. Meath and will play a key part in managing the commercial performance of large-scale electrical and engineering projects across Ireland and Europe.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring value is maximised while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commercial function across multiple projects
  • Oversee cost planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Manage contracts, including negotiation, administration, and risk mitigation
  • Ensure effective cost control and value engineering throughout project lifecycles
  • Work closely with project teams during pre-construction to provide commercial input on design and constructability
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Support and mentor junior commercial staff

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor role within construction or engineering
  • Strong knowledge of contract forms and commercial management practices
  • Experience working on large-scale electrical, infrastructure, or data centre projects is desirable
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
