Engineering & Facilities Supervisor – County Cork
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering & Facilities Supervisor to join a busy manufacturing operation in County Cork, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of engineering operations across production areas, facilities, and site services. This role will lead a team of engineers focused on maintaining operational continuity, improving efficiency, and ensuring a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Maintenance Support
- Supervise engineering operations across production and facilities areas.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed and continuously improved using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner to minimise downtime.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Assist across all site engineering and maintenance activities as required.
Facilities & Contractor Management
- Ensure safe systems of work and supervision procedures are followed for all visiting contractors.
- Support the management of site facilities, utilities, and engineering services.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and operational standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a proactive and hands-on approach.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance performance, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate daily engineering activities and allocate workloads using the CMMS system.
- Attend and contribute to daily production and engineering meetings.
- Support and guide engineering team members to ensure effective performance and development.
Budget & Resource Management
- Support the engineering department in achieving budget targets through efficient use of materials, spare parts, and maintenance resources.
- Monitor maintenance activities to ensure cost-effective operations.
Requirements
- Engineering qualification at degree level or a time-served apprenticeship.
- Proven maintenance experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar production environment.
- Strong people management and supervisory experience.
- Good understanding of food safety, compliance, and audit standards.
- Experience managing contractors, facilities, and utilities.
- Strong communication, organisational, and structured problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of PUWER regulations.
- Understanding of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and CE marking requirements.
