Field Service Engineer - semiconductor.
Our client seeks an experienced Installation/Field Service Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites in Ireland and across Europe.
The role will primarily involve installation, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of complex semiconductor equipment. The engineer will work closely with customers, other Field Service Engineers and technical teams in Europe.
The position will be based in Ireland, with regular work at customer semiconductor manufacturing sites and some travel to other European locations, US and other affiliates, depending on project and training requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Installation, commissioning and sustaining of semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
• Support equipment start-up, testing, qualification and handover to the customer.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and process equipment issues.
• Support equipment upgrades, conversions and modifications where required.
• Monitor installation and service activities against schedule and highlight any risks or delays.
• Work closely with customer engineering and facilities teams during installation and service activities.
• Complete service reports, installation documentation and technical records accurately and on time.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance with both company and customer procedures.
• Travel to customer sites internationally as required.
Qualifications & Experience requirements:
• NFQ Level 7 or higher in a relevant engineering discipline preferred, or NFQ Level 6 with significant relevant technical or semiconductor experience
• Previous experience working with semiconductor equipment, particularly vertical diffusion furnaces, would be a strong advantage.
• Comfortable working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Good practical and hands-on engineering capability with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel in Europe and internationally.
