Head of Materials - North Dublin.
The Role:
Develop and manage the Materials Management function for the site, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction and goals of the site and the relevant global supply chain functions. Manage the operation in compliance with all relevant statutory and company regulations and controls.
Role Objectives:
Lead and manage the Materials Management function
Put in place the necessary controls and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with all internal controls and all relevant statutory regulations
Lead and manage the Export Control and Customs function for the site
As a member of the Senior Leadership team, participate in the development, implementation and supporting of site strategy and vision
As a member of the Senior Leadership team, lead the implementation of site-wide programs as required in support of the site's strategic direction
Build relationships with external business partners so as to keep the site informed of relevant developments and to ensure alignment with the global functional direction
Take a risk-based approach to managing the Materials function so as to ensure resilience and robustness in all aspects of the operation
Act as a role model within Materials and at a site level as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
Use a people-centred leadership approach to build an engaged and high-performing team
Continuous Improvement: Planning, initiation and coordination of continuous improvement projects on site in conjunction with management peers. Providing concepts and pragmatic tools including clear organisational roles, integration in process and project design, and initiating best practice sharing.
Interested applicants should:
Be educated to degree level (minimum), ideally with an advanced degree in the area of Materials Management or business.
Have at least 10 years’ experience in a large-scale multinational manufacturing environment, at leave five of which are in a functional management capacity, and at least 3-5 years in a people leadership role.
Knowledge of a range of Materials Management/Manufacturing Management disciplines.
Advanced knowledge of business administration and leadership.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office, ERP systems environment (SAP an advantage.)
Advanced knowledge of Project Management skills.
Advanced influencing skills and advanced negotiation skills.
Advanced problem solving skills and methodologies and advanced risk assessment and mitigation skills.
Advanced budgeting and financial modelling skills.
Experience of working in one or more Manufacturing Materials Management disciplines in a multinational manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of business processes, organisational structures, business performance measures and their interdependence and control systems (IT, business, manufacturing, quality etc.)
Ability to assess and deconstruct complex solutions; define and obtain agreement on an appropriate response and effectively implement solutions.
Ability to define and lead transformational business changes both within and across function in a manner that achieves broad acceptance for the outcome.
Experience of working with cross-functional groups. Ability to resource and build an engaged team. Recognise competing business priorities without compromising project goals. Communicate effectively up and down the organisation, adapting your style depending on the communication and influencing objectives.
Experience and exposure to various large and medium international companies. Understand organisational structures and how to influence at peer and more senior levels.
