Health and Safety Specialist - West Cork.
Job Summary:
This is a leading role in the development, implementation and management of H&S programs to ensure occupational health and safety are compliant, best in class and continuously improved.
Key Responsibilities:
Development and implementation of establishment of Health and Safety Management System to Standard ISO 45001
Implementation and operation of Safe Systems of Work
SEVESO and COMAH compliance management with a focus on Major Accident Prevention Planning, ATEX and Chemical Management Programs
Maintenance of the health and safety legal register and compliance and governance systems development
Project management of EHS programs and collaboration with teams to support H&S programs
Emergency preparedness and response program development, implementation and maintenance.
Support on Corporate Social Responsibility and H&S Business Continuity Planning
Occupational health, industrial hygiene and ergonomics program development
Contractor management including construction and maintenance operations
Construction safety program
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with regulatory agencies, managing regulatory inspections, and incident reporting while implementing a H&S quality control and KPI system
Participating in, and leading, EHS working groups and committees while innovating within the EHS field
Developing and partnering with functions in execution of the H&S training program
Utilising electronic platforms for the management of Permit to Work and H&S Management Systems

Higher Diploma or Degree level qualification in Health and Safety.
Ability to build and develop strong relationships with internal functions and liaise with global EHS personnel
Able to prioritise own workload and manage own time, self-motivated and capable of working flexibly and to strict deadlines using own initiative.
Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong technical H&S skills, be capable of project management of H&S programs, process strong interpersonal and influencing skills and have an ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
