Human Resources Business Partner - Co Leitrim. 

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to be based out of Co. Leitrim on a Maternity Leave Contract position. This role will be based out of one main site whilst covering other smaller production sites as required.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Headcount and Attendance Management

    • Track daily headcount, report on trends, and ensure attendance policy adherence.
    • Maintain the Time Management System (TMS) to reflect accurate employee numbers.
  2. Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Drive recruitment processes to align with operational needs.
    • Partner with agencies, manage recruitment costs, and handle permit applications and renewals.
    • Ensure seamless onboarding through robust induction processes, collaborating with Safety, Quality, and Training teams.
  3. Employee Record Maintenance

    • Ensure complete and accurate employee setup in payroll and TMS systems.
    • Manage necessary registrations (PPS and others) for new employees.
  4. Accommodation and Housing Management

    • Oversee housing allocations for employees, review and support property acquisitions as needed.
  5. Employee Relations and Engagement

    • Guide managers in handling employee relations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
    • Ensure consistent application of policies across departments for fair treatment.
    • Build strong relationships with trade union representatives for effective communication and dispute resolution.
  6. Performance and Development Management

    • Support managers in conducting probationary and developmental reviews.
    • Ensure Personal Development Plans (PDPs) are implemented per group policy.
  7. Internal Communication and Training Coordination

    • Facilitate site-level communications, including notices, messaging, and email updates.
    • Oversee training needs, budgeting, and external training grants, especially for skill development such as language classes.
  8. Compliance and Legislative Oversight

    • Keep updated on legislative changes and train staff as necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with employment laws at all times to prevent legal issues.
  9. Compensation Management

    • Ensure competitive and fair salary levels, with adherence to job grading policies.
  10. Safety and Risk Management

    • Collaborate with Safety Coordinator and Risk Manager on safety compliance.
    • Document and address safety-related incidents and support LEAN initiatives for process improvements.
  11. HR Reporting and Analytics

    • Produce weekly and monthly HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, sick pay, and time lost.
  12. Strategic and Project-Based Initiatives

    • Engage in change management and strategic HR initiatives that align with company objectives.
    • Support and drive projects that contribute to people development and business effectiveness.
  13. Culture and Engagement

    • Foster a workplace culture that aligns with organizational values and drives engagement.
    • Address any arising issues that may impact employee morale or business operations.

Additional Responsibilities

The HRBP may also be assigned additional tasks within their competency that support business objectives, underlining the dynamic nature of this role.

This role is central to aligning HR activities with operational goals and ensuring that the HR function contributes effectively to business success. It requires balancing the strategic objectives of the group with the day-to-day needs of the site’s operational teams.
