Maintenance Engineer - County Louth.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join an established engineering team within a world-renowned engineering company.
Overall Objective: Performs routine maintenance, troubleshoots and quickly repairs any mechanical or electrical problems with the manufacturing equipment and systems within the facility.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Plan and schedule repairs, ensure that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately undertaken and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed
• Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyors, and production related equipment.
• Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines, monitor and continually improve maintenance processes to achieve enhanced levels of efficiency
• Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns
• Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools
• Sourcing parts for repair and machine upgrades, negotiating with suppliers and liaising with equipment vendors
• Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Maintain all plant machinery to ensure safe, continual and efficient operations
• Continually seek to drive improvements in equipment efficiencies and operational performance. Drive, support and participate in ongoing continuous improvement projects for machine downtime reduction
• Communicating with the production team and mentor apprentices
• Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
• Installing new production equipment
• Preparing and submitting maintenance reports
• Development and management of a Maintenance Management System
• Share knowledge and experience with others and provide relevant training to colleagues, where required
• Ensure machine and equipment safety is paramount when undertaking maintenance
• Follow the company health and safety policies and procedures
Interested applicants should have:
• Engineering / Electrical / Mechanical qualification or equivalent
• At least 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Any exposure to CNC machines and robotics is advantageous
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and/or OEE desirable (not essential)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven maintenance engineering skills
