About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our innovative and customer-focused design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of Electrical products tailored to customer specifications, helping to expand our product capabilities and support long-term client relationships.
You will be based on-site and report to the Head of Design, collaborating closely with multiple departments including Production, R&D, and Quality to deliver high-standard, customised engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare technical specifications, CAD drawings, and engineering documentation for customer approval and internal use.
Direct and coordinate the manufacture of prototype units.
Collaborate with the R&D team to identify opportunities for process and product improvements.
Optimise mechanical design to meet customer specifications and performance targets.
Produce clear manufacturing instructions and support factory operations to ensure designs are accurately implemented.
Maintain and update all relevant technical documentation and specifications.
Act as a key liaison between engineering and production teams to ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with design software such as CREO (or similar CAD tools).
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial design environment is highly desirable.
Knowledge of internal standards, product conformity, and quality control metrics.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
Willingness to travel for business as required.
A full clean driving licence is preferable.
