Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help drive the business forward and deliver customer and company expectations to the highest standards in a controlled and professional manner.
The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is to develop and optimise mechanical designs in line with customer specifications. The successful candidate will be a key player in expanding the company’s range and increasing its capabilities. Both electrical and mechanical design is carried out on-site.
This is an excellent opportunity that will report directly to the Head of Design but will require the successful candidate to work closely with departments across the business.
Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation of specifications, drawings and technical details for customers.
- Direction and coordination of prototype manufacture.
- Liaison with R&D to improve efficiencies.
- Optimising designs to meet customer specifications.
- Preparation of instructions and drawings for use on the factory floor.
- Preparation, control and updating of technical specifications.
- Working with production to ensure design specifications are achieved.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience working with design packages such as CREO.
- Preferable experience in a manufacturing environment/manufacturing best practice.
- Experience with internal standards and quality conformance metrics.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Requirement to both work on-site and travel for business.
- Previous SAP experience preferable.
- Full clean driving licence preferable.
