Mechanical Design Engineer - County Cavan

Our client now has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to help drive the business forward and deliver customer and company expectations to the highest standards in a controlled and professional manner.

The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is to develop and optimise mechanical designs in line with customer specifications. The successful candidate will be a key player in expanding the company’s range and increasing its capabilities. Both electrical and mechanical design is carried out on-site.

This is an excellent opportunity that will report directly to the Head of Design but will require the successful candidate to work closely with departments across the business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparation of specifications, drawings and technical details for customers.
  • Direction and coordination of prototype manufacture.
  • Liaison with R&D to improve efficiencies.
  • Optimising designs to meet customer specifications.
  • Preparation of instructions and drawings for use on the factory floor.
  • Preparation, control and updating of technical specifications.
  • Working with production to ensure design specifications are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience working with design packages such as CREO.
  • Preferable experience in a manufacturing environment/manufacturing best practice.
  • Experience with internal standards and quality conformance metrics.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Requirement to both work on-site and travel for business.
  • Previous SAP experience preferable.
  • Full clean driving licence preferable.
