Port Engineer - Dublin Port and County Meath.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing all aspects of the Dublin Port facility operation and concentrate transport. A major component of the role will include a focus on automation system maintenance, development, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in the Leadership Team
• Deputise for Head of Section when required
• Perform automation system maintenance, development, training and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure EHS compliance with pro-active engagement, including inspections, safety walks and reporting
• Monitor compliance with industrial emissions licence requirements
• Manage environmental requirements for dust monitoring, quay sweeping, reporting etc.
• Oversee contract management and ensure compliance with contracts and rules and regulations
• Co-ordinate concentrate transport and shipping as per agreed plan
• Monitor and record all concentrate movements
• Ensure all required sampling / reporting for concentrate transport
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all transport regulations
• Maintain all concentrate stores and handling facilities in good order
• Implement PM checks and plans in conjunction with the Maintenance Department
• Perform budgeting processes and manage costs versus budget
• Participate in the procurement of equipment and services
• Initiate, lead & support improvements & projects as required
• Lead the communications with all contract personnel
• Ensure training needs analysis for Port and transport personnel is implemented
• Ensure rules and regulations are complied with
Interested applicants should have extensive industry experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in a process environment with a focus on automation system development and maintenance.
Leadership: A proven track record of leading and managing teams, with strong strategic planning and decision-making skills.
Process Optimisation: Experience in optimising production processes, improving efficiency, and implementing best practices.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Safety Compliance: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and experience in maintaining a safe working environment.
Educational Background: Degree/Diploma in Automation or Mechatronic Engineering or similar.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in automation and process control systems, quality assurance, and production technologies.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address production issues.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
• The role will require frequent travel between the Dublin Port facility and the production operation in County Meath. The role will require a presence at both facilities, on a business needs basis.
• There will be a degree of flexibility required as part of this role in line with operational requirements.
• There will be some international travel required as part of this role.
