Production Supervisor - County Westmeath.

This position entails working 12 hours shifts (8-8) rotating between days and nights.

In this role you will be responsible for the organisation of work in the manufacturing department on shift. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance to procedures and policies within production with respect to the manufacture of the product. In addition the supervisor is involved in the review of systems and product non-conformances and the participation in the identification, analysis and review of system and product problems with a view to achieving permanent solutions. Participation in the generation of corrective and preventive actions is a responsibility of the supervisor also.

The supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production activities of the production area and also for co-operating with Quality on all aspects of the implementation of quality policies, procedures and activities related to this standard. He/ she must ensure that properly trained human resources and adequate equipment are available to comply with the Quality system, in order to meet all regulatory requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Handover required at the beginning and end of each shift
• Plan & organise the shift - allocate trained Operators to machines
• Print production report sheet and update accordingly
• Attend production meetings when on days
• Check machines are running throughout the shift & check run quantities. Check for correct documentation at machines
• Liaise with Lead Operators regarding mould changing and breaks
• Liaise with Quality, Engineering, Materials, Customer Services, Warehouse, HR etc. on an ongoing basis
• Allocate tasks to Operators & Lead Operators throughout shift.
• Check scrap is recorded correctly in IQMS.
• Archive production at the end of shift in IQMS
• Provide training for Operators.
• Manage employee performance, including appraisals.
• Manage employee attendance & time keeping.
• Sign off time sheets weekly for Payroll department T&A system

Interested applicants should have:

o Minimum Leaving Certificate
o Level 6 Certificate or higher in supervisory or technical discipline

o Ability to supervise and lead a team of production employees
o Good knowledge of production management
o Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations
o Basic technical skills
o Ability to motivate employees and carry out performance appraisals
o Excellent communication skills
o Excellent organisational and leaderships skills
o Be trustworthy, honest and behave in an ethical manner


o Knowledge of mould changes and start ups
o Experience in a regulated environment an advantage
o At least 3-5 years' experience supervising people
