Quantity Surveyor

Position: Quantity Surveyor (Building and Civil)
Location: County Mayo, Ireland

About the Role:
Our client are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction company working on both building and civil engineering projects in Mayo. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, including tendering, evaluation, and contract award.
• Monitor and manage project costs, ensuring budgets are maintained and value is maximized.
• Assess variations, claims, and subcontractor accounts.
• Prepare and submit monthly valuations and final accounts.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, industry standards, and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with project teams, providing advice on contractual and commercial matters.
• Identify and mitigate risks to achieve project goals within timeframes and budgets.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, ideally within both building and civil sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software such as Excel, AutoCAD, or project management tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Full driving license and willingness to travel as required.
