A leading Tier 1 construction and engineering contractor renowned for delivering complex, high-quality projects across Ireland and the UK are on the lookout for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

This role is based on a major commercial building redevelopment project in Dublin City Centre. The scheme involves the transformation of an existing structure into a modern, energy-efficient workspace, integrating advanced building technologies and sustainable design principles. The project will set a new benchmark for commercial development in the heart of the city, requiring a strong focus on safety leadership, stakeholder coordination, and adherence to the highest EHS standards.

As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that all safety, health, and environmental standards are maintained and continuously improved throughout the project lifecycle. You will act as both an advisor and influencer — working closely with project management, contractors, and site teams to foster a proactive safety culture and deliver best-in-class EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management System across the project.
  • Promote a strong, positive safety culture through engagement, communication, and coaching.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments; prepare detailed reports and follow up on actions.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider project team to integrate EHS principles into daily operations and project planning.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to site staff and subcontractors to ensure full compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance, reporting, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Environmental, Health, and Safety (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and safety roles, ideally within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations, codes of practice, and industry best standards.
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload, manage competing demands, and influence diverse teams.
  • Excellent IT and reporting skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems.
  • A collaborative and proactive mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Company vehicle or travel allowance.
  • Pension, life insurance, and income protection.
  • Laptop, phone, and necessary equipment provided.
  • Relocation assistance (where applicable).
  • Comprehensive CPD and professional development opportunities.
