As a Senior Quantity Surveyor with our client, you will take a leading role in managing all commercial and cost aspects of projects from pre-construction through to completion. You will work closely with project teams to ensure that budgets are accurately prepared and maintained, risks are managed, and value is maximised across a diverse portfolio of work including commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and education projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage detailed cost plans, budgets, and tender documents.
- Oversee procurement processes and manage subcontractor packages.
- Carry out valuations, track variations, and manage change control effectively.
- Lead commercial reporting, cost forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors.
- Support strong working relationships with clients, design teams, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and relevant contract standards (e.g., public works contracts, FIDIC).
Requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar QS role, ideally within main contracting.
- Proven experience delivering projects in sectors such as commercial, healthcare, pharma, or education.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
- Confident working with Irish contract forms and procurement routes.
- Proficient in cost management software and MS Office suite.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
