Toolroom Manager - County Westmeath.

In this role you will manage, actively grow and develop the toolroom and its resources. You will have responsibility for the overall management of the toolroom for the plant including the development, performance and maintenance of the toolroom and stock control to produce an efficient system and delivery solution, maximizing performance and minimizing costs against pre-agreed targets and controls.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe work environment for employees.
• Manage the repair and maintenance of tools both internally and externally as required.
• Support the troubleshooting and solving of technical problems.
• Manage outsource vendors as required to support the toolroom workload.
• Ensure all repairs, maintenance and modifications are delivered within needed timelines as business dictates. Establish structures to support this need.
• Support plans in order to improve functionality / productivity of problem tooling on site
• In conjunction with planning, organise daily work at shop-floor with optimum utilisation of team members and equipment.
• Supporting new tool builds, tool acceptance and tool validations with the NPI team.
• Supporting the development of the toolmaking expertise within the company, to include specification development and sourcing of new toolmaking equipment.
• Utilise best practices to maintain / improve processing equipment and services
• Improve | develop functional systems to optimise efficiencies across processes
• Manage human resources in a proactive manner to develop in-house capability through training and mentoring.
• Set, agree and review targets with reporting staff to achieve business performance
• Provide effective and timely data / communications on agreed Key Performance metrics for the department.
• Maintain a positive culture of continuous improvement across operations to achieve business objectives.
• Manage the development of the Toolroom by constantly seeking continuous improvement and leading by example


Interested applicants should have:

• A third level qualification in toolmaking, engineering or tool design

• Strong Project Management skills and client interfacing skills
• Strong communication skills, report writing and excellent presentation skills
• 3D CAD
• MS Office proficient
• Possess strong analytical and skills with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lead a team with strong people management skills
• Analytically strong, with the ability to assess the feasibility of proposed actions and decisions.
• Persuasive with good negotiation skills

Circa 10 years’ experience working in an injection-mould toolmaking environment
• Knowledge of Part design and Tool design.
• Injection Moulding knowledge and experience in managing project costs
• Knowledge of polymer materials
