Welder/Fabricator - County Westmeath.

Our client seeks a Welder/Fabricator who will be responsible for producing high-quality metal components and structures using various welding techniques and tools. The Welder/Fabricator will work with precision, follow detailed specifications, and operate while strictly adhering to all safety protocols. With a steady hand, strong attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of different metals and their properties.

Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layout and procedures.
• Determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on job requirements.
• Set up components for welding in line with specifications, including cutting material using powered saws.
• Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare parts for welding.
• Align and clamp components using tools such as calipers, rulers, and squares.
• Perform welding operations using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
• Repair machinery and components by welding parts and filling gaps as needed.
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and finished structures to identify any flaws or defects.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.


Skills and Experience sought:
• Leaving Certificate or equivalent required.
• Certification in welding from a recognised training institute.
• Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience using metalworking tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and plasma cutters.
• Solid understanding of welding safety procedures and best practices.
• High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Previous experience in metal fabrication and welding environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment.
