Global Engineering Solutions (GES) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Process Engineer to join our team supporting the Capital Project Portfolio.  You will play a crucial role in supporting our Large Molecule (Biologics/Vaccines/Sterile) Line of Business, with initial assignments leading project deliverables across a portfolio biologics drug substance projects at our Biotech Swords and Dunboyne sites. 

In this role, you will be a key member of a high-performing team, responsible for implementing capital project scope and conducting technical studies to support business objectives.  You will guide assigned scopes through the Capital Management stage gate process, which includes business case development, process design/specification/vendor management, and commissioning & qualification/process implementation/realization of the solution. 

As part of our wider GES Network, you will have the opportunity to interface with Subject Matter Experts and Project Leaders, allowing you to develop advanced technical knowledge in your own area of expertise. 

We are looking for a leader who demonstrates exceptional collaboration, communication, and vendor management skills. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead process design efforts for capital projects, offering innovative solutions that align with business objectives. 
  • Collaborate with a team to evaluate alternative solutions and develop project scope. 
  • Lead suite team/small project teams through preliminary designs, including P&ID development and HAZOP facilitation. 
  • Ensure deliverables conform to company standards and practices and are technically sound. 
  • Provide technical guidance during project implementation, including Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation, to realize designed assets. 
  • Liaise with other technical functions to ensure successful technology implementation for the transfer of new and in-line products. 
  • Collaborate effectively with contractors, suppliers, and other team members to execute work. 

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, technology, and/or manufacturing within the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry. 
  • Familiarity with engineering design principles and equipment lifecycle approach. 
  • Preference for exposure to Biologics Manufacturing unit operations and hygienic design. 

 

Skills: 

  • Creative and innovative thinker who can apply analytical problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment, with demonstrated teamwork skills and the ability to influence peers and senior stakeholders. 
  • Effective project and time management skills to deliver on-time and quality work. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Engineering. 

 

The initial assignments will require approximately 10-15% travel.  Future assignments may offer exposure to other large molecule business areas and/or other Lines of Business and may require additional travel.
