Graduate Innovation Chef
Sanderson is working with one of our top FMCG clients and they're looking for a graduate innovation chef to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Innovation Chef, you will:

  • Develop Products: Create new products in categories like natural stocks, culinary sauces, flavoured butters, stuffings, crumbs, filled pasta, and other flavoured ingredients.
  • Present Innovations: Work with the Culinary Innovation Team to present new product concepts and samples to stakeholders, manufacturing teams, food service providers, and retail customers.
  • Prepare Samples: Weigh and prepare ingredient samples for Development Chefs.
  • Complete Documentation: Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork, including recipes, raw material data, recipe costings, and product information sheets.
  • Manage Dispatches: Organise and dispatch product samples to customers daily, handle DHL bookings, and generate product labels, ensuring traceability.
  • Control Inventory: Manage ingredient and packaging orders, stock rotation, and labelling of all consumables.
  • Communicate: Liaise with customers and the commercial team on project deliverables to meet customer briefs promptly.
  • Benchmark Competitors: Coordinate bench marking of competitor products for assessment.
  • Attend Meetings: Participate in internal development meetings and sensory panels.
  • Support Projects: Assist in continuous improvement projects and meet all project deadlines.
  • Prepare Presentations: Set up presentations for stakeholders and customers, both on-site and virtually.
  • Maintain Kitchen: Ensure the development kitchen meets GMP standards.
  • Stay Informed: Keep updated on market trends, consumer insights, restaurant trends, and competitor activities.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative and office tasks.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

  • Education: Culinary Arts Degree or similar qualification is essential.
  • Attitude: Proactive and positive with a can-do attitude.
  • Passion for Food: Enthusiastic about food and innovation, with up-to-date trend knowledge.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Share Point is a plus but not required.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills and a team mentality.
  • Creativity: Creative and solution-focused thinker.
