Procurement Specialist - with Air freight Logistics Expertise
In this key role you will support the operations of a global Logistics team by ensuring relevant structures & arrangements are in place with transportation providers to deliver an efficient & cost-effective service.
Responsibilities in the Role will include:
- Run or support tenders from Regional Hubs in (Germany, USA, India & Canada) & from 50 Sales Centres worldwide
- Plan & develop tender documents including clarification of legal & business requirements & issues
- Work with stakeholders to understand requirements to develop comprehensive tender RFQs
- Execute tender with electronic tendering tools
- Manage the evaluation process to agreed timeframes & internal deadlines
- Calculate & benchmark transportation costs in tender & for spot requests
- Given the RFP results, prepares recommendations for Steering Team decision-making
- Communication with Logistics Service Providers
- Regular monitoring of tender success & analysis of success factors
- Handover & close cooperation to Implementation Team & other stakeholders
- Support the team in ensuring agreed elements of contracts are adhered to & delivered by the Logistics Service Provicers (LSPs)
Experience & Skills
- Degree with a focus on logistics & or strong exp in logistics tender management especially in CEP -(Courier, Express and Parcel) companies volume too
- Experience buying logistics service - air & ocean services
- A high degree of self-direction, initiative, & commitment
- Solution oriented with proven experience solving problems & implementing efficiencies
- Experienced in tender documents development
- Good knowledge of electronic tender tools, Excel, MS Word & Power Point
- Experienced in negotiation management
- Fluent spoken & written knowledge of English, additional language like German & Chinese are an advantage
- Ability to undertake regular business travel to Germany & Switzerland
