Senior Business Analyst- Academic Systems
Sanderson have teamed up with a leading university to recruit a Senior Business Analyst to report to the academic secretary.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the university academic business forward, this role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance the institutions' IT applications, ensuring seamless academic processes and a top tier educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire expert knowledge of the University's core IT applications and their alignment with the academic enterprise architecture.
- Provide comprehensive tier 2 support for the applications, collaborating with Information Systems and Services (ISS) and business units to resolve issues.
- Lead cross-functional project teams to introduce, enhance, or upgrade applications, ensuring successful implementation within specified timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize ongoing applications development, contributing to impactful decision-making.
- Gather and document business requirements, develop specifications, test scripts, and coordinate training activities.
- Manage licensing arrangements, fostering relationships with vendors, Finance Office, and ISS colleagues.
- Identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency improvements, and innovation, advising relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with ISS colleagues, vendors, and stakeholders to optimize application usage and streamline business processes.
- Develop and maintain quality procedures and documentation, staying informed about technical developments in Higher Education.
- Represent the unit and University in external forums as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- A primary degree (NFQ Level 7) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of five years' experience as a business analyst, including end-user support, service management, and IT application specification and implementation.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, capable of driving continuous improvement in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record in managing and delivering complex projects or IT implementations.
- Desirable: Experience with ITIL or other IT service management methodologies, project management methodologies (Prince2, Six Sigma, Lean, Agile).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for continuous self-development in various software products, business analysis techniques, and process improvement methodologies.
