Job Title: Buyer/Planner

Location: Westport, Mayo

Reporting into: Purchasing Department

Salary: 35-40k plus benefits including 23 days AL and pension after probation. Also, this employer offers great perks including hampers and vouchers.

This permanent role is on site 4 days per week and one day Working From Home.This is likely to be some more flexibility with this.

You will be joining a small team of Buyers (3 in total) who are purchasing a wide variety of engineering parts from across the globe.

About Your New Job

• Manage the end-to-end order process, ensuring timely deliveries and proactive follow-up on outstanding or delayed shipments.
• Closely monitor delivery schedules and resolve issues related to overdue consignments.
• Produce and analyse branch and product performance reports, providing informed recommendations to optimise product profiling and sales strategies.
• Oversee system-generated stock forecasts, adjusting parameters and placing orders as required to maintain high service levels at optimal cost
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve debit note and invoice queries promptly.
• Escalate potential change controls related to Engineering spares to the relevant user area; coordinate meetings with vendors and stakeholders as needed until resolution is achieved.
• Manage on-site escalations through a shared, collaborative approach, ensuring continuous communication and updates until issues are fully resolved.

What Skills You Need

• Third level qualification in a Purchasing related subject is desirable but not essential
• 2+ year's working experience in a purchasing role
• Experience of working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential Knowledge of ERP systems is desirable
• Strong teamwork background
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is an advantage
• Ability to work with detailed information in a structured fashion Excellent communication and numeracy skills
• Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
