About Your New Employer

• With nearly 125 years of experience in the construction industry, our client is a leader in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors.  They engage in a wide range of public and private sector projects, including traditional, design & build, commercial, industrial, educational, leisure, heritage, and residential.  You will work alongside experienced professionals, including the Health & Safety Manager, Contracts Manager, and Director of Construction, with regular guidance from the SHEQ Manager and independent safety consultants.

About Your New Job

• As a Health & Safety Officer, you will prioritize safety on-site, maintaining a healthy safety record and ensuring the company's safety ethos is upheld.
• Monitor, evaluate, and act upon any health and safety conditions, promoting improvement and prevention through advice, education, and enforcement of appropriate legislation.
• Assist the SHEQ Manager in assessing staff safety development and training needs, and contribute to company health and safety audits.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, update safety statements, and monitor and contribute to company policies.

What Skills You Need

• A degree in Health & Safety.
• At least 5 years of experience on construction sites with a proven track record of accident-free sites.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and SafeT Cert is advantageous. Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and procedures.
