About Your New Job
As the Heavy Machinery Service & Maintenance Lead, you will supervise a small team while inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment across the site. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership with technical expertise. Key responsibilities include:
Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic issues and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose complex faults and carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
Lead, coach, and mentor junior mechanics and apprentices, sharing knowledge to develop team capability.
Collaborate with production teams to understand machinery-related issues and implement timely, effective solutions.
Assist with planning maintenance schedules, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
What Skills You Need
Proven experience as a heavy machinery mechanic, with expertise across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and mentoring a small team.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
