About Your New Job

As the Hygiene Manager, you will take full ownership of hygiene and sanitation standards across the site, playing a critical role in protecting product safety and quality. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will lead and develop a hygiene team while ensuring full compliance with food safety legislation and customer standards.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage all hygiene operations across production and non-production areas

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the site Hygiene Management System in line with HACCP, BRC / IFS, and food safety legislation

  • Manage allergen controls, zoning, and cross-contamination prevention

  • Lead, train, and performance-manage a hygiene team of approximately 12 people

  • Create and manage cleaning schedules, SSOPs, and validate cleaning effectiveness

  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and third-party audits

  • Drive continuous improvement through hygiene KPIs and risk identification

  • Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Technical teams to support efficient operations and NPI activity

This is a hands-on leadership role with real influence across the factory.

What Skills You Need

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment

  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, BRC / IFS, food safety legislation, and microbiological risks

  • Experience leading and developing hygiene teams in a high-risk food production environment

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent documentation standards

  • The confidence to communicate and influence across multiple departments
