About Your New Job as a Mechanical Technician:

This job is part of the Engineering Services job function. You will be responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems.

The job is on a Shift Work pattern: 14 days in a 28 day period.

Week 1: 4 nights (7pm - 7am)

Week 2 - 3 days (7am - 7pm)

Week 3 - 3 nights

Week 4 - 4 days

• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance on facility mechanical, electrical and other installed building systems equipment and facilities.
• Assist with modification of building equipment and systems.
• Review assigned work orders and estimate time and materials needed to complete repairs.
• Support energy management by taking measures to ensure that all systems are operating in the most efficient manner. 
• Maintain inventory of parts, tools and items needed to complete work orders.
• Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

What Skills You Need:

• Diploma or Trade qualification with 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Meeting the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders and the ability to carry/lift heavy loads of 50lbs or more. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Strong communication skills.
