Your new employer is a leading family-run mechanical contractor based in Dublin. Specialising in the supply and installation of mechanical services to a variety of sectors, including retail, commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and fitout. This company has ongoing projects across Dublin, Cork, and Westmeath and is looking to expand their team with a Quantity Surveyor.
About Your New Job
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to mechanical engineering projects, from initial calculations to final figures. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that project costs are accurately managed and controlled. Your job duties will include:
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Performing risk, value management, and cost control.
- Advising on procurement strategy.
- Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Preparing and analyzing costings for tenders.
- Allocating work to subcontractors.
- Providing advice on contractual claims.
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
What Skills & Requirements You Need
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in quantity surveying for mechanical engineering projects, preferably within the building services sector.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
