About Your New Job

As the Senior Chemical Engineer, you will play a key role within the Production Process Team, providing technical expertise and leadership across multiple areas of the plant’s operations.

You will work closely with production and maintenance departments to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on energy efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Optimise key areas such as crushing and grinding operations, kiln performance, and heat transfer systems.
  • Conduct process performance analysis, including mass and heat balances, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and project teams to resolve technical challenges and implement solutions.
  • Support major overhauls, project commissioning, and plant upgrades, ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture across the plant by analysing process data, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions.

What Skills You Need

  • A degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a process, chemical, or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of process design, material/mass balances, and kiln or high-temperature systems.
  • Proven ability to deliver process improvement and optimisation projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Exposure to project management and contractor coordination would be a distinct advantage.
