About Your New Job
- VAT Compliance: Supervise the preparation, submission, and payment of VAT returns, ensuring adherence to local regulations.
- VAT Planning: Formulate and implement strategies to optimize tax efficiency and minimize liabilities.
- Tax Audits: Oversee VAT audits, address queries from tax authorities, and ensure compliance.
- Process Improvement: Continuously enhance VAT processes and procedures for streamlined operations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate VAT risks through proactive monitoring and controls.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and global network firms on VAT-related issues.
- Training and Education: Provide VAT training and guidance to internal teams.
- External Relationships: Engage with external advisors and tax authorities to stay updated on VAT regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare and present VAT compliance reports to the board of directors.
What Skills You Need
- Qualifications: AITI or Tax Technician.
- Experience: Ideally at least 5 years of experience in VAT.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Irish VAT and tax legislation.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
- Initiative: Self-motivated with the ability to drive improvements.
- Time Management: Capable of prioritizing and managing time effectively.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in work.
