SouthDoc is recruiting a group CEO for its three companies.

South West Doctors-on-Call CLG is an Out-of-Hours Family Doctor service for urgent medical care in Counties Cork and Kerry. It has two wholly-owned subsidiaries: SouthDoc Services Limited and South West Community Intervention Teams Limited.

SouthDoc Services Limited directly employs Doctors and engages Locum Doctors to support 500 member GPs. 

South West Community Intervention Teams Limited is a community-based nurse-led service providing enhanced acute interventions to patients.

All three companies are ISO 9001:2015 accredited.

The Role

  • Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic leadership to the organisation, ensuring it delivers in all areas of its mandate including statutory, operational, financial and governance obligations.
  • The CEO will work to further improve all aspects of the organisation, building on a clear vision for the future, ensuring strong and effective working relationships are maintained with all stakeholders. 
  • The CEO will be based in Killarney, Co Kerry.

The Person

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate visionary leadership, senior management experience and excellent communication skills. They will have proven networking and stakeholder management experience at regional and national level. They will have delivered significant results in terms of operational performance, organisation and policy development, and service transformation.
  • The successful candidate will possess a third-level qualification, ideally to post-graduate level.
  • They will have the ability to acquire a good working knowledge of all aspects of the work of SouthDoc and associated companies, and a clear understanding of the challenges facing their environment.

Key Requirements

  • It is expected that candidates will have significant experience at Chief Executive or Senior Management level with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets of relevant complexity. 
  • The successful candidate will be an ambitious and hardworking leader with an accomplished track record in strategic delivery. They will be capable of operating at Board of Director level and have a sound knowledge of corporate governance. In addition, they will possess the financial acumen, excellent communication and public presentation skills required to fulfil this crucial role.
  • Core competencies required include strategic vision, leadership, ability to plan, financial and commercial skills, sound judgement, organisational awareness, communications, relationship-building and results orientation. A commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the SouthDoc Group is essential.
