A critical component of this role is the ability to build trust and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across Editorial, Data and Technology, and Commercial through effective communication and strong creative leadership. The success of this role depends on growing user engagement through progressively better digital apps/channels that ultimately become indispensable to users and differentiators for our business.

  • Work with the Editor of The Irish Times and the Editor of the Irish Examiner and Echo to ensure that our digital products align with editorial goals and values.
  • Work with the Analytics and Insights team to ensure there is an evidence basis for changes and to evolve the measurement of impact of changes to the apps, websites and emerging digital channels.
  • Work with the Product (UX) Design team to uphold the principle of user-centric design, using data and analytics to assess usability and desirability.
  • Work with PMO and the Engineering team to ensure the feasibility of delivering the agreed backlog and roadmap.
  • Work with commercial functions (Sales, Media Solutions, Marketing and Finance) to ensure that the vision and changes are commercially viable.
  • Lead the prioritisation of the deliverables in the backlog and roadmap to continuously progress towards the future vision for our apps, websites and emerging digital channels. Ensure that this process is seen as transparent and inclusive by stakeholders.
