Independant Non-Executive Director
On 19 February 2021, NatWest Group announced that it would begin a phased withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland that would take place over the coming years. As a result, Ulster Bank Ireland DAC, (“UBIDAC”) initiated a process of disposal of its assets, repayment of its liabilities and closure of its various branches and operating units, while supporting colleagues and customers and helping them prepare for the future.
The Strategy of UBIDAC is to safely execute the phased withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland, engaging with the Bank’s regulators and other stakeholders on material items related to the Strategic Withdrawal. Once banking activities have fully ceased, it is planned that UBIDAC will return its banking licence and will thenceforth operate under a different regulatory model to progress and close any remaining issues.
In the context of board succession planning, UBIDAC is seeking to appoint a new Independent Non-Executive Director for a short term period.
