Senior Product Engineer- NPD: Dublin.

Job Overview:

Support New product Development and introduction by:

Liaising with R&D engineers in a network of development sites

Providing DFMA inputs

Interfacing via Procurement to core suppliers in a global supply chain

Developing and costing internal manufacturing/ test processes

Planning and supporting prototype and validation build

Managing configuration control, costings and Bills of material

Both product and process focus will be required

Minimum of Degree level qualification in engineering or relevant technical discipline .

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' engineering experience, and experience of development and technology transfer

The position:

The successful applicant will be a member of the site New Product Development (NPD) Engineering support team, interfacing to remote development sites, and may transition with the product to volume manufacturing .

Skills and capabilities sought:

BSc, B.Eng, M.Eng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or Applied Physics or similar.

Ability to structure work and manage complexity

Interest and competency in working in an environment with diverse technologies (optics, fluidics , electronics, mechanical, software, chemistry etc.)

Process oriented skills with ability to flowchart and clearly document complex processes.

Manufacturing technology experience (e.g moulding, machining, sheet metal, electro-mechanical assembly)

Manufacturing process expertise (Cycle time, standard times, flow, layouts)

Experience in vended supply chain

Technology transfer experience

Understanding of Quality requirements in a FDA regulated industry

Ideally at least 5 years’ experience in a Development and Manufacturing environment.

Competency in core development and enterprise applications (SAP, NX, Teamcenter, Right Hemisphere or related design and bill of material).
