We have an excellent opportunity for a Duty Manager to join the management team here at The Malton Hotel, Killarney. The purpose of this role is to ensure that the quality and standards of the Hotel are maintained at the highest level and customer expectations are met and exceeded. The role will provide an opportunity to develop skills in all departments of the hotel.
The ideal applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, hardworking and a team player. The applicant will be able to provide excellent customer service to our guests.
Responsibilities:

  • To work with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
  • Meeting and greeting guests
  • Dealing with guest queries in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Maintaining quality standards throughout the hotel
  • Ensuring a high level of customer care exists throughout the hotel
  • Providing consistent management presence throughout the hotel during key times
  • To liaise with each Head of Department to ensure that the department is functioning correctly in relation to staffing levels, customer care etc
  • Providing assistance to all departments during busy periods
  • Assisting with weekly labour costs, ensuring they are in line with business levels
  • Managing staff and delegating duties
  • Compliance with Health and Safety regulations
  • Recording any accidents that may occur on the premises during the shift
  • To communicate with relevant departments with regard to updated information or special requests with regard to an event.
  • Ensuring the effective running of any department under your supervision
The successful candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Duty Manager ideally at 4*/5* leves
  • Strong background in a high volume hospitality, conference and banqueting operation in a 4 or 5 star hotel
  • Strong background in weddings
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written
  • Standards driven, flexible
  • Focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service
  • Well presented
  • Maintain a professional image at all times
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
