Unijobs on behalf of one of our public sector clients are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst for an expected initial time frame of 6 months with the potential for extension. The position will be based with our public sector client in Limerick. You will be working in a fast paced environment, where working on one's own initiative and as part of a team will be an integral part of the position. You must be available to start ASAP.

The role will predominately consist of developing ETL processes, providing DBA functions and SSRS/Crystal/PowerBI reports. The successful candidate will also need to have strong requirements analysis skills and be proficient in liaising with multiple stakeholders to determine the most efficient method of data collection/reporting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The position of Senior Data Analyst encompasses both managerial and administrative responsibilities which include the following:

  • Producing quantitative and/or qualitative analysis and reports
  • Developing data import routines
  • Developing extracts
  • Assisting in cleansing and transforming data
  • Test new software or upgrades to existing systems and ensure the proposed system is compatible with existing reporting structures
  • Producing specification documents for new/upgraded reports
  • Maintaining version control and updating specifications for reports and modules
  • Keeping up to date with new innovations
  • Delivery of high quality customer service
  • Assisting end-users in interpreting data
  • Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Provide training to other disciplines and staff
  • Perform administrative tasks necessary to complete role.
  • Other duties as required
  • Provide regular activity reports to Management.
  • Provide and efficient, effective and high quality service.
  • Maintain all necessary clinical and administrative records and reporting arrangements.
  • Engage in IT developments as they apply to service user and service administration.
Post Specific Requirements

Demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Knowledge of Database technologies (e.g. SQL Server) desirable
  • Knowledge of reporting and analytic tools (e.g. SQL, Crystal Reports, R) desirable
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Requirements Analysis
  • Database design and database testing
  • Data discrepancy management
  • Data reporting
  • Data extraction, transform, and load
  • Project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to deal effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong planning and organising skills including, structuring and organising own work load and that of others effectively
  • The ability to use computer technology effectively for the management and delivery of results
  • The ability to work with the team to facilitate high performance, developing clear and realistic objectives
