Financial Accountant

The primary function of TII’s Finance department is to provide financial leadership to the organisation through the provision of high-quality services and support in the following areas: Financial and management reporting Ensuring strong internal control over key financial and operational processes Management of the corporate budgeting process Processing payroll, expenses, accounts payable and accounts receivable Provision of training and operational support for all systems employed by Finance Treasury Management Statutory returns Preparing the annual financial statements and management of the annual audit process with the C&AG It is also important for the department to build and maintain strong relationships with its colleagues and with external stakeholders such as the Department of Transport, the Department of Finance, the NDFA and TII’s bankers, advisers, solicitors and auditors.

TII is the Sponsoring Agency responsible for light rail and as such is tasked with the procurement, delivery and operation of light rail services and also the design, procurement, management and construction of new light rail projects. The Project Services Department is responsible for developing and owning the plans, core processes, control systems and business intelligence that enable TII to manage its multi-million portfolio of road and public transport projects and infrastructural assets in an efficient and value-adding manner. The primary role of this department is to standardise and integrate the activities of commercial management, risk analysis, quality and time management (scheduling) in the effective planning, delivery and ongoing monitoring of TII projects.

Light Rail Programme Communications & Stakeholder Management Lead

Background The Light Railway Capital Programme business unit is responsible for delivering a portfolio of nationally significant light railway projects that support sustainable economic growth in Ireland and enable the National Strategic Outcomes and priorities of the National Development Plan. The light railway projects under the remit of the Light Railway Capital Programmes business unit include Luas Finglas, Luas Lucan, Luas Poolbeg and Luas Bray, all of which are supported by the Greater Dublin Area Transport Strategy 2022-2042. TII is also progressing the route selection of a light railway scheme in Cork, in line with the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy. The Light Railway Capital Programme business unit also supports the management of the Luas network, including supporting Life Cycle Asset Renewals programmes and Network Enhancements programmes, in collaboration with the Luas Networks business unit in TII’s Commercial Operations division.

Construction Supervisor

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is responsible for managing and improving the country’s national road and light rail networks plus MetroLink, with an annual budget in the order of €1 billion. TII is responsible maintaining the Luas Light Rail network. The Light Rail network relies on 11 principal asset categories / groups (e.g. structures, track, control & communications systems and power installations) with different characteristics and deterioration mechanisms, with a cumulative value in the region of €1bn. In maintaining the light rail network, TII is responsible for overseeing a wide range of asset renewal and maintenance projects, including significant civil infrastructure works, rail replacement works, power communications and signalling works. These works are carried out by a variety of contractors on behalf of TII in both normal working hours but also due to the nature of the works, at night and at weekends as required. In addition to these works, TII is responsible for ensuring that all construction works undertaken by third party developers adjacent to the light rail network are undertaken in accordance with the requirements detailed in agreements that have been established between the third party and TII. The Construction Supervisor - Light Rail Network will represent TII in the supervision and monitoring of all construction works undertaken on the Luas Light Rail Network by TII’s contractors and shall be responsible for monitoring construction activity by third party developers adjacent to the light rail network.
