General Accountant / Team Lead – German
Location: Sofia, Bulgaria
Salary: €22,000 + relocation assistance
The GL/Team leader ensures the accuracy of accounting records and reporting information, the accuracy of statutory accounts, co-ordinates and manages the information provided to tax department. Co-ordinates and manages the achievement of the periodic IHQ and unit reporting timescales. Provide support, counsel and develop staff whilst ensuring sufficient backfill experience to maintain business continuity. Ensures compliance with internal control processes and controls and maintenance of ethical business standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· coordinate all relevant accounting activities associated with the general ledger in line with Client functional policies.
· Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed.
· Ensure all reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner.
· Perform Freight Analysis and Journal posting.
· Ensure Journals are properly prepared, signed off.
· Review and sign off payment file.
· Ensure that key information is provided and reported in a timely manner.
· Ensure that comprehensive records of transactions are maintained.
· Ensure adequate control posture based on Sarbox requirements at all time.
· Be the proactive contact for auditors, providing all information and backup as required.
· The production of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in a timely manner.
· Providing continuity of the activities carried out by the team members in order to ensure workload prioritization and allocation of duties within
the team.
· Liaise with team members on a daily basis to help resolve any problems.
· Liaise with country to ensure service levels are maintained and all issues are resolved.
· Identify areas of improvement.
· Ensure processes are documented and up to date.
· Perform ad hoc tasks and projects.
· Establish team objectives and measure performance.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
· Excellent Accounting knowledge and skills.
· Good understanding of US and German GAAP.
· Previous GL experience required.
· Good understanding of computer systems: Excel, SAP is an advantage.
· Good Analytical and time management skills.
· Fully rounded in coaching and counseling skills and able to identify the training needs of others.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in German and English.
· Excellent team player with solid leadership skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and keep deadlines.
· Ability to handle people management issues with tact, diplomacy and maturity and the ability to inspire others to reach a common goal.
· Committed approach to team work.
· Personal enthusiasm and drive to succeed.
· Willingness to accept responsibility.
