**This is a maternity cover and the assignment is for an initial 9 months **
The role will consist of the below duties for their markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There will also be the requirement to provide advisory services to their businesses in the CEER countries (Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia).
Responsibilities:
- Provide VAT advice to the local countries
- Provide audit support to the business units.
- Identify VAT recovery opportunities and engage in VAT planning
- Manage relationships with external VAT Authorities on routine inquiries and audits;
- Identify VAT recovery opportunities and put processes in place to avoid VAT being a cost
- Oversee new VAT registrations and provide advice in respect of new business set ups;
- Provide the US Tax group with a central point of pan-European VAT advice to support any US Tax
planning in Europe
Skills/Experience:
- AITI qualified (or equivalent) or a qualified accountant with a tax bias
- Fluency in English & German would be an advantage
- Solid European VAT knowledge and a willingness to expand that knowledge
- Experience in working in a multinational environment
- Experience in providing practical European VAT advice
- Self starter with experience working in a similar environment
- Ability to work under pressure and to continual deadlines
