The Web / Software Developer role is a key role in ensuring timely and accurate project delivery to the business. You will work independently on assigned projects or features of a large project, or work with a small team of developers/designers in the development of features and subcomponents of the bespoke web-based booking engine and related systems at. You will work on problems of medium to complex scope where analysis of a situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. You will need to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action, including weighing the costs of various solutions against their benefits and risks. Your success will be measured by your ability to deliver projects to agreed timelines while adhering to best practice in terms of coding and documentation standards at all times.
Key Objectives:
Working in a team to drive code design effort for assigned projects. Working closely with management and external teams to deliver complex solutions
Developing code modules. Unit and integration testing and performing code review
Documentation of developed functions and roll-out to key users for training
Ensuring that system security is at an acceptable level at all times and that any new features or components adhere to best practice in this area.
Requirements:
· An appropriate qualification in the field of Software Development or other relevant area. Proven track record in delivering projects in complex commercial and technical environments. Excellent interpersonal and commercial skills and a focus on delivery.
· Solid development expertise is essential with working knowledge of SQL. Experience in developing RIA’s and Flex / ActionScript / ColdFusion or Java / C# / OOP skills necessary also.
· Skills in evaluation, support and maintenance of software solutions, including well-developed diagnostic and problem solving skills
· Debugging – Knowledge/experience of software debugging tools/techniques and good problem solving skills.
