Here is a selection of people starting new roles with State Street, EHS International, Circle K, EDC, Critical and C&C Group.
Terri Dempsey has been appointed as country head of Ireland with State Street Corporation, provider of fund administration and custody services. She will oversee State Street’s Irish operations, reporting to executive vice-president Cuan Coulter. She moves into the country head role formerly held by Tadhg Young, now head of State Street’s global clients division, based in Boston. With State Street since 2005, Terri previously led the global delivery operational groups and was interim head of State Street Funds Services (Ireland). Working in Ireland’s financial services industry for 25 years, she brings a depth of operational, governance and management experience to her new role.
John (‘JP’) Prout has been appointed as director of recruitment with EHS International, the environmental, health and safety (EHS) services company. JP brings more than two decades of experience. He was previously director of client services at Hobson, where he spearheaded the firm’s entry into the Irish life science market. He has also previously held senior roles with Morgan McKinley, Hays and Oxford Global Resources. JP will now lead EHS International’s drive to embrace innovation, tailoring solutions to meet the needs of clients and candidates. JP has a proven track record of strategically hiring and building relationships. He will curate talent pools and databases for EHS International.
Ciara Foxton has been appointed as managing director with fuel and convenience retailer Circle K Ireland. She takes over from Gordon Lawlor, who is moving to MD of Circle K Norway. She will be responsible for leading the business in Ireland. Ciara brings a wealth of prior experience, notably in the retail sector. She has worked for Circle K since 2018 and currently serves as director of finance and real estate. Her previous roles include senior finance roles at Life Style Sports, Arnotts, Kefron, and Diageo. Circle K has more than 400 sites across the Island of Ireland and nine standalone convenience and food stores in city centre locations.
Richard Coughlan has been appointed as group commercial director by engineering firm EDC. With EDC since 2021, he will now lead the firm’s programme management strategies, overseeing market intelligence and optimising commercial performance on all projects. Richard brings 20 years of construction experience in large scale projects in building services, industrial, commercial, healthcare, education, food and beverage, life science, and data centre sectors. His experience spans Ireland, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE. Richard has a wealth of mechanical engineering expertise, cost management and commercial experience. EDC has a team of over 100 people across offices in Cork, Dublin, Limerick, Galway, London and Istanbul.
Donal McCarthy has been appointed as interim CEO of emergency medical response charity Critical. He replaces Micheál Sheridan, who has a new healthcare role. Donal joined the board of Critical in 2021. He has held several CEO roles and is an experienced business growth consultant. Critical was founded in 2009 as Irish Community Rapid Response; in 2019, it launched Ireland’s first and only charity Air Ambulance, a vital service now funded and provided by the state. Critical’s volunteer responders, including consultants in emergency medicine, are tasked by the National Ambulance Service to cardiac arrests, road and farm accidents etc within 30km of where they live.
Andrew Andrea has been appointed as chief financial officer and executive director with C&C Group, manufacturer and distributor of beer, cider, wine, spirits and soft drinks across the UK and Ireland. Ralph Findlay, executive chair since May 2023, will revert to the role of non-executive chair following a short transition period. Andrew is a drinks industry veteran, having held senior roles for over 20 years with Marston’s plc, the UK brewing and pub retailing business, notably as finance director. Andrew also previously held roles with Guinness Brewing Worldwide and Bass Brewers. A qualified chartered accountant, he is also a non-executive director at Portmeirion Group.
