Asset Manager

The Design Manager will be required to engage extensively with counterparts and stakeholders in NTA, local authorities, developers and their consultants and advisors. They will require an understanding of the remit of the local authorities in structural matters and an appreciation of the applicable systems in place in these local authorities. The role will entail significant interface and consultation with local authorities and other stakeholders with a view to obtaining all requisite agreements.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Design and / or the project managers as required, this person will be required to undertake and manage concept, preliminary and detailed design work to tight deadlines and be capable of operating with minimal supervision. Alongside this, he/she will be expected to manage and coordinate the advice, design and input from all relevant disciplines (internal and external)– including drainage, structures, survey, rolling stock, utilities, architecture, traffic, transport planning, environment, archaeology etc. - and stakeholders.

Energy and Systems Engineer – Light Rail Network

Energy & Systems Engineer(s) within the department are required to develop a wide range of skills covering many highly specialised systems. The engineers must have a knowledge of the technology underpinning each system and be able to design, specify, test and commission the systems. The Energy & Systems Engineers are required to manage teams of specialised contractors involved in the implementation of asset management and renewal works and are also expected to keep abreast of the latest technology advances to support the maintenance and repair of legacy systems.

TII’s Financial Management Unit is responsible for providing commercial oversight and assurance with regard to TII’s financial operations and revenue streams from tolling [M50 eFlow (approx. €210m) and Dublin Tunnel (approx. €32m)] and Luas (annual revenue stream approx. €62m), to TII’s senior stakeholders including TII’s Board, Audit Committee and Executive Team, and the Comptroller and Auditor General. This assurance is provided by way of a robust governance framework incorporating detailed understanding of each business (M50 eFlow, Dublin Tunnel and Luas), management and review of the financial controls and processes in place both internally within TII and externally within outsourced service providers, formal monthly/annual reporting processes and audit management.

Project Manager – New Luas Projects

The light railway projects under the remit of the Light Railway Capital Programmes business unit include Luas Finglas, Luas Lucan, Luas Poolbeg and Luas Bray, all of which are supported by the Greater Dublin Area Transport Strategy 2022-2042. TII is also progressing the route selection of a light railway scheme in Cork, in line with the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy. The Light Railway Capital Programme business unit also supports the management of the Luas network, including supporting Life Cycle Asset Renewals programmes and Network Enhance-ments programmes, in collaboration with the Luas Networks business unit in TII’s Commercial Operations division.
