Are you a Controls Engineer looking to move into a more senior role? Our client, a leadingWaterford based manufacturing company currently has a vacancy for a Senior Controls Engineer .

This is a great opportunity for an experiencedControls Engineerto join a leading manufacturing company who are continuing to expand and growtheirfacility in Waterford.

THE ROLEAs a Senior Controls Engineer you will provide technical leadership and software development to automation and control projects. You will:

  • Be responsible for the design, development and implementation of integrated, automated manufacturing systems and control software applications
  • Leadmulti-disciplined, cross-functional teams on key technical projects
  • Provide technical leadership to junior engineers
  • Develop, implement and debug code
  • Fault-find complex automation equipment
  • Investigate and implement automation improvements/upgrades
  • Integrate machine control software with controllers, motion controllers, vision systems, and other instrumentation
THE PERSON
  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Computer Science or other relevant technical equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience with development, integration and project management of automated control systems including Vision systems, PLC’s, motion control, robotics, HMI’s and SCADA control systems software
  • Specialised Training in the following areas would be advantageous: various PLC platforms including Allen Bradley, WonderWare, VB.Net Programming, C/++, SQL, Oracle, network communications and architecture
  • Experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical production prefererd
  • Ability to work with Operations staff, Manufacturing/Maintenance technicians and engineers in cross-functional team setting
  • Knowledge of software development life-cycle approaches, GAMP, 21 CFR Part 11, machine vision fundamentals a plus
