Claremorris Community Radio Limited was formed in March 2004. It is a limited liability company with no share capital, having its Registered Office at The Town Hall, Claremorris, Co. Mayo. A full-time licence to broadcast was granted in June 2006 and transmissions commenced on the 2nd September 2006.

Claremorris Community Radio aims to reflect the diversity of cultures within its catchment area. It will promote community development in all its aspects, with a combination of information, light programming, music and programmes of regional and local interest. It is intended to cater for a diversity of musical tastes, and the intention is to reflect the new multicultural community in Claremorris by encouraging new

immigrants to participate in programming, as well as providing Irish language and music programmes. By including programmes and items dealing with business and enterprise in the local area, it is intended to promote a feeling of community ownership.

The Station has recently increased its broadcasting hours to Monday -Thursday 11:00 to 15:00, Friday 09:00 to 21:00, Saturday 09:00 to 21:00 and Sundays 09:30 to 21:00.

Job Title: Community Development Officer

Responsible to: Manager

Responsible for: Creating awareness of the station amongst the community and target groups

To encourage increased participation in the station activities by target groups

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Creating and fostering links with community and key target groups

Developing good relationships with key stakeholders and delivery partners

Promotion of activities to key target groups and encouraging participation in station activities

Promotion of volunteering at the station.

Working with various sub-committees in the delivery of services.

Management:

• To attend weekly Staff Meetings
• To ensure recording systems are in place

Training

• To undertake training as necessary

General:

• To undertake other duties as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the aims and objectives of Claremorris Community Radio

• To maintain a pledge of CONFIDENTIALITY regarding information held regarding the business affairs of Claremorris Community Radio
