The Role
As an integral member of the Technical Solutions team, this role will involve evaluating and transferring new technologies to the relevant area within Almac Diagnostics together with performing basic research projects to improve technical processes within the company. The successful applicant will be involved in delivering technical expertise for solution implementation within the desired area of Almac Diagnostics.
Requirements
The successful candidate will possess a post graduate degree in Life Science, and a wide range of expertise in molecular biology techniques in particular technologies such as gene expression analysis and SNP detection using both microarray and/or QPCR profiling. Knowledge in application of FFPE derived nucleic acid samples, both RNA and DNA is advantageous. Experience running QPCR assays for gene expression analysis including experimental design and optimisation is desirable. Method validation experience for development of a diagnostic product in a commercial environment is extremely advantageous. The successful candidate will have excellent problem solving abilities and experience developing workflow solutions as well as trouble shooting molecular biology processes. Central to this role is ensuring that an up to date knowledge of relevant technologies, scientific literature and Diagnostic/RUO products is maintained. They will have attention to detail, clarity and accuracy in communication and have the ability to manage resources and timescales.
