Purpose of the Job
Responsible for managing and developing the legal work in relation to a portfolio of clients.
Principal Accountabilities
Management of Portfolio
- The financial success of the portfolio by meeting agreed financial targets.
- Client servicing and Client relationship management.
Legal/Documentation Consultancy
- Legal documentation consultancy to clients
- R & D
- Pension Adjustment Orders
- Trustee Training
Legal/Technical Support
- Internal/External Communication – responsible for Focus and technical bulletins
- Technical and legal support to EBID
- Knowledge management – library & network information
- Internal Training
EBID Regulatory Role
- Liaison with regulatory bodies: Pensions Board, Revenue
People Management Responsibility
- Monitoring performance of direct reports and identifying areas of possible improvement.
- Successful performance management.
Personal qualities
- Professional legal qualification required
- Strong legal, analytical and drafting skills
- Strong communication skills, particularly written communication
- Strong knowledge of pensions law
- Effective people management skills
- Effective presentation and negotiation skills
- The ability to meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and thrive in an environment that is always changing is important.
