Assistant Buyer - Grocery

Assistant Grocery Buyer

Principle Function

To support and assist the Buying Team in the delivery of purchasing objectives

Key Responsibilities:

  • To co-ordinate all branded Promotions - Listings, Order Screens, Pricing, Duration, Marketing and Art room, Communication to shops and Adherence to deadlines
  • To co-ordinate Promotions for the leaflet between the Buying Office and Marketing, Pricing, Images, Legal Requirements while adherence to agreed deadlines
  • To assist Buyers, Specialists, Business Development Managers and Data Team with new product Listings ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all product data
  • To communicate and liaise with shops on all Promotions
  • To adjust, communicate, and liaise with shops regarding weekly Cost and Retail Price Changes and the "Weekly Memo" for all Department
  • To ensure clear lines of communication are maintained between Buying Department and all management in Store
  • To maintain checks on competitors pricing and offers in the press and media.
  • To support the Buying team by being a reference point for all supplier queries
  • To attend Promotional Meetings and New Product Development Meetings
  • To assist Buying team with analysis of sales, promotion and margin information
  • To source, purchase and negotiate for a product portfolio within your product category
  • To drive your product categories promotional strategy
This is a unique and challenging environment to work in. Candidates do require buying administration or Assistant buying experience gained in a retail buying office for this role
