Client Information
Our client based in Central Asia is currently in the process of Large Scale developments throughout the Central Asia region. They are currently in the process of developing large Educational and Commercial projects in the region and have developed an excellent reputation throughout the region and further afield in the process.
Location: Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
Description
• Construction/Engineering related Third level or Trade Qualification.
• 10+ yrs experience in a Construction Management role
• 2 year contract
• Construction Manager who will be based at Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, and who will report to Project Director.
• A chartered civil and/or structural engineer with at least 10 years relevant experience in the design and construction of educational and residential facilities/buildings including associated civil engineering infrastructure works such as roads, services and water/sewage treatment works.
• Previous experience of working in a CIS country together with proficiency in spoken and/or written Russian would be a distinct advantage.
• Fluent English and Overseas Experience Essential.
• The successful candidate will be required during the design phases of the project to carry out ongoing reviews/assessments of the drawings, specifications and designs prepared by architects and consulting engineers to ensure that these are buildable and maintainable taking due account of the locations of the campus sites and of issues such as the limited local resources, availability of materials and logistics of construction at such locations.
• During the construction phases the successful candidate will be required to monitor all quality control, scheduling, costing, and safety aspects of the construction works as they are carried out on the sites. This will entail frequent visits to, and short stays at, the sites of the three university campuses and will involve close liaison and co-ordination with the Resident Project Manager and the site personnel.
• The Construction Manager shall also assume overall responsibility for the Field Support Services section, and shall also be responsible for project managing all construction works on the town campuses.
• In addition, the Construction Manager shall work in close liaison with the Director of Legal Affairs on all aspects of land acquisition.
