We are seeking a Head Chef for a café & restaurant situated on the Dingle peninsula. The premises specialises in seafood and modern Irish food served at a very high standard. It has been highly recommended by major world guide books and has an excellent reputation. It serves lunch during the day and fine dining during the evening. It is situated on a busy tourist route and also has built up a loyal local trade over the years. The business is currently undergoing a renovation where the kitchen will be newly equipped and extended as well as the seating areas to cater for 60+ pax.

The ideal Candidate :

• Will be an experienced and creative chef with at least 3 years experience (Head Chef) as a chef or similar role with references.
• Excellent management skills and experience of budgets, forecasts and management of food costs.
• Creative with flair and a passion for food. Will be able to bring exciting initiatives and contribute to the success of this exciting, developing business.
• Some experience of catering for banqueting.
• Will possess excellent communication skills and a positive personality. Excellent people management skills and the ability to multi task.
• Standards driven, an organiser and a motivator.

Responsibilities:


• Lead, motivate, develop & train staff.
• Ensure that all food is produced in a timely and efficient manner and meets the highest standards of taste, quality and presentation.
• Develop exciting menus based on food trends, regional tastes and client request.
• Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practices.
